£110,000 road improvements for Anlaby roundabout

A week of road improvements are to be carried out to a roundabout in Anlaby.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council is to invest £110,000 on resurfacing the road around the B1231 Springfield Way Roundabout.

The work is due to start on Monday 25 November and be carried out over five evenings, from 6pm-11pm Monday to Friday, weather permitting.

The scheme will involve resurfacing the road around the roundabout as well as sections of the approach roads on the west side.

The roundabout will be closed during work hours only, 6pm to 11pm, to make sure the site is safe for the public and the workforce, and will reopen afterwards.

A signed diversion will be in place to guide traffic via the B1231 Springfield Way, A1105 Boothferry Road, and B1232 Willerby.

The resurfacing works will be carried out by the council’s road maintenace team as part of its planned programme of road improvements.

Councillor Paul West, the council’s cabinet member for environment and transport, said: “These improvements are crucial for ensuring the safety and longevity of the road, providing a smoother and more durable surface for all drivers.

“We want to thank all drivers and local residents for their patience while we carry out this work and we would advise motorists to follow the diversion signs and plan their journeys to avoid any inconvenience.”
