Youth Bus Launches Twilight sessions this Summer
A new youth bus will be running twilight sessions in Hessle and Howden over this summer holidays, as part of the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council in partnership with Humberside Police , will be providing a range of fun activities for young people aged 11 and over on benefit-related free school meals.
Outreach workers will lead activities from DJ workshops ,multi sport with Hull FC ,street art workshops, dance workshops, and wrestling in sumo suits.
The youth bus was developed as part of the Barnado’s collaboration project with East Riding Of Yorkshire Council’s Voices mean Choices . Young People, parents/carers and partners from a range of organisations were involved in the designing of the concept”Our Place” to offer a safe place for young people to come to.
Parents can book funded places for young people who are in receipt of benefits-related free school meals , and go to an East Riding School.
There are also places on all programmes for pupils with an Education , Health and Care Plan (EHCP),regardless of their free school meal status.During the summer holidays , parents will be able to book upto 16 funded places. Food will be provided at each session.
