BEVERLEY can look forward to two days of free entertainment at the start of half-term week, on Monday May 30th and Tuesday the 31st. The events are aimed at families and include a range of entertainment, including craft and circus workshops as well as free face painting and music.
They will take place in the pedestrianised areas of Saturday Market, when Beverley FM will be amongst the organisations taking part. The two days will also act as a trial for using the area as a community event space.

FOLLOWING a comprehensive refit by its new owners, Selby-based Jos Richardson & Son, the Westside Filling Station in Beverley reopens tomorrow. Formerly let to the Co-op, the site will include a Spar grocery outlet and a Costa Express as well as a petrol forecourt. Richardsons have eight other sites throughout Yorkshire, including Glews Garage, just off the M62 near Goole.
GARDENERS will be able to pick-up two free bags of compost at a series of events organised by East Riding Council. Around 5,000 bags of compost, made directly from the garden and food waste which residents recycle in their brown bins, will be given away, including at the Beverley council depot in Annie Reed Road on Saturday May 21, from 10am. Residents are invited to drive to their nearest event, where two 15kg bags of compost will be placed into each of their car boots.
