A CRACKDOWN on drink and drug driving by Humberside Police led to 650 roadside tests being carried out and a total of 21 arrests – 11 for drink driving and 10 for failed drug wipes.

The campaign was carried out over a 15-day period in August. Roads Policing Sergeant Paul Long told Beverley FM: “We want to educate people about the dangers of driving whilst under the influence, which is why we have these focused campaigns. 

SUPERSTAR musicians from the world of classical music will descend on Beverley next week for the 30th Beverley Chamber Music Festival, which takes place at various venues from Thursday September 29 to Saturday October 1. 

The festival will mark the final concert as co-artistic director by Martin Roscoe, who joins forces with long-standing collaborator, international concert pianist Peter Donohoe – who played in the first ever Chamber Music Festival in 1993 – for a gala programme of two-piano music. AFTER an enforced break since 2019, the 23rd Open Art Exhibition returns to Beverley Art Gallery this Saturday and runs until  January 7, 2023. Saturday’s launch event takes place from 1 – 3pm
