FREE COMPOST giveaways, run by East Riding Council, return in September, including a session at the council’s depot in Annie Reed Road, Beverley, on Saturday September 17 at 10am. In total, around 5,000 bags of compost will be given out at nine events across the county, with each resident entitled to two 15kg bags.

The compost given away is made up directly from the garden and food waste which residents recycle in their brown bins. Residents are invited to drive along to their nearest event, where two bags of compost will be placed into each car boot.
