East Riding councillors are to take the leadership to task, on the issue of processing waste generated by residents, at tomorrow’s Full Council Meeting. Councillor Julie Abraham told Beverley FM that complaints from the local community have raised concerns about odours, noise, gulls, litter and dust, not only in her own ward but also at a number of the county’s other waste processing facilities. It’s nearly two years since the council resolved to take action to protect residents.

Beverley Firefighters have helped to raise over £5000 for the local branch of mental health charity MIND. They were amongst a team that completed a 270 miles ultra-cycle between 32 fire stations in just 15 hours. Donations can still be made online to their Justgiving page.

Ahead of Fraud Awareness Week, the Neighbourhood Watch Network is holding a special online Zoom session tomorrow to help local people keep safe from fraud and scams which have rocketed over the last year. Organisers told us the 45minute session takes place at 10.30am and uses real life examples of how people in our area have fallen foul of scams. Places must be booked in advance via email.
