BEVERLEY Racecourse is gearing up for two of the biggest race days of the year next week, starting with Ladies Day on Wednesday August 10, when The Westwood course will be packed with a capacity crowd for what is also regarded as one of the social highspots of the year. Prizes including a Porsche driving experience, a pamper spa package and a £1,000 Gucci watch are among those to be awarded for the most stylishly dressed.
The Premier Enclosure and Paddock Club are already sold out, although tickets for the course enclosure are still available. The course is open from 11am, with the first race at ten past two and the last race at ten past five. The following day, Thursday August 11, there’s an another afternoon of racing, expected to attract a bumper attendance.
BEVERLEY Fire Station’s annual Open Day returns this Saturday, August 6, after a long Covid-induced hiatus. The free family event includes displays, stalls and is supported by the other emergency services with all funds raised going to the British Red Cross. It runs from 11am – 4pm.
BOOSTER jabs for over 16s and first and second covid vaccinations for those aged 12 and over will be available when the Health and Wellbeing Bus visits Beverley Racecourse on four occasions this month. It will be open from 9.30am to 5pm this Thursday and then again on August 13, 18 and 25.
In addition, walk-in clinics, with no appointment necessary, for children aged five to 11 are available at the Manor Road health centre this Saturday and then again on August 25 and 31. The clinics will run from 10am to 4pm.
