Beverley’s East Riding Theatre has announced the return of its theatre summer schools, with separate week-long sessions for two age groups. The first, from August 8 -13, is for 11 to 13-year-olds and, at the end of the week, those taking part will present a showcase performance, including elements of song and dance.
From August 15-20 it is the turn of 14 to 19-year-olds, with the focus on a performance of The Forest, written by international writer Joe Bennett. Both summer schools will be led by international theatre director Mike Friend, Artistic Director and joint founder of the theatre company The Lyttelton Arts Factory in New Zealand. Mike has directed many ERT productions in the past, including A Christmas Carol in 2014, Sparrow in 2016 and Chippy in 2019.
