Crews from Beverley Fire Station will be pulling a 14-ton fire engine around the town this Saturday, March 19, in an effort to raise money for vital supplies and equipment for Ukranian refugees. They will set off from the fire station around 11am and then head via New Walkergate, Railway Street, Lairgate and Hengate before arriving at the Market Cross on Saturday Market.

Money raised will go to the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal set up by the Disasters Emergency Committee. In addition to collecting on the day, a Just Giving page has been set up and has already raised more than £130.

A full colour historical map charting Beverley’s history across the centuries has been produced by The Georgian Society of East Yorkshire in memory of the late Margaret Dibb, a retired solicitor from Cherry Burton who was a keen supporter of the society’s work. The location of major buildings and other features (many long gone) are identified, showing how the streetscape has changed over time. The map costs £9.99 and is available from Beverley Bookshop.
