MOLESCROFT Primary School has announced measures to help parents cope with rises in the cost of living. Head teacher Michael Loncaster has said that although the daily cost of individual school meals has been increased from £2.50 to £2.75 this month – the first increase for many years – the school has decided to keep the weekly charge at £10 for the next year – a saving of £3.75

In a newsletter sent to parents he also announced an earlier start of 7.45am for the school’s Breakfast Club. He said: “Although this will lead to increased costs, I again will not increase the charge over the next 12 months. The Afternoon Tea club charges will also remain unchanged for 12 months,” he said.

ROAD PATCHING work means School Lane in Beverley, between Walkergate and New Walkergate, will be closed on Wednesday September 28. It’s hoped the work will be completed within the day, with diversions via Spencer Street and Walkergate.
