City have a busy Transfer Deadline Day

Hull City are delighted to announce the signing of Mali international Adama Traoré on a two-year deal.

The 27-year-old, whose deal includes a one-year club option, joins on a free transfer after leaving Hatayspor.

Capped 30 times by his country, the attacking midfielder made 54 appearances during a two-year spell with the Turkish Süper Lig outfit, assisting nine goals.

Raised in Bamako, he started his senior career in Mali with AS Bakaridjan before moving to France with Lille, making 24 appearances, and played twice on loan at Belgian side Royal Mouscron.

He commanded a €14m transfer fee when signing for Ligue 1 club AS Monaco, where he stayed for five years from 2015 to 2020.

Netting five goals in 27 matches, he enjoyed loans at Portuguese and Belgian top division sides Rio Ave and Cercle Brugge and spent the 2019/20 season with French outfit Metz.

At international level, Traoré won the Golden Ball as the best player at the 2015 FIFA Under-20 World Cup and played in the 2019 and 2022 Africa Cup of Nations


Hull City are delighted to announce the loan signing of midfielder Xavier Simons from Premier League side Chelsea.

The defensive midfielder, who can also operate at centre-back and right-back, has joined the Tigers on a season-long loan deal.

The 19-year-old joined Chelsea in 2016 from Brentford’s academy after the Bees made the decision to close their academy programme.

Making over 60 appearances for a variety of Chelsea’s youth teams, the London-born midfielder made his senior debut in an EFL Cup fixture against Brentford in December 2021, where the Blues reigned 2-0 victors.

Captaining the Under-21s a handful of times last season, Simons made 29 appearances at youth level for Chelsea, registering two assists in 20 Premier League 2 appearances.

Featuring four times in the EFL Trophy, the 19-year-old also made five appearances in the UEFA Youth League, scoring his only goal of the season in a 4-2 victory over Swedish side Malmö FF.

Internationally, the midfielder has represented England at Under-15, Under-16, Under-17 and Under-19 level, earning a combined eight caps.


Hull City are delighted to announce the loan signing of attacking midfielder Dimitrios Pelkas from Turkish Süper Lig side Fenerbahçe.

The loan is for the duration of the 2022/23 campaign.

He began his career in his homeland of Greece with PAOK, making his professional debut on the 2nd August 2012 in the Europa League against Israeli side Bnei Yehuda Tel Aviv. In the reverse leg, the 28-year-old scored his first professional goal in a 4-1 home win.

After spending time out on loan in his native country with Apollo Kalamarias, scoring seven goals and registering five assists in 17 league appearances, he then made the move to Portugal with Vitória the following season.

The attacking midfielder returned to PAOK for the 2015/16 season, where he scored nine goals and registered seven assists in 49 games for the club.

Pelkas won his first major tournament the following season, winning the first of three Greek Cup titles. Winning the prestigious competition a further two times in a row, the 28-year-old also helped the club win the double for the 2018/19 season when winning the Super League Greece title.

The 28-year-old left PAOK in October 2020 to join Fenerbahçe on an initial three-year contract. He made 201 appearances for PAOK, scoring 44 goals and registering 32 assists.

Pelkas netted on his Fenerbahçe debut, being assisted by current Hull City midfielder Ozan Tufan, in a 3-2 away win against Göztepe S.K.

With the Turkish giants, the attacking midfielder scored 13 goals and registered eight assists in 67 appearances.

Internationally, Pelkas has represented Greece at Under-19, Under-20, Under-21 and senior level, with coach Konstantinos Tsanas handing him in his debut at all levels.

Making 11 caps at youth level, he currently has 26 caps at senior level for his country after making his first cap in October 2015.

He has scored one goal for his country, netting in a 2-0 away victory over Georgia in the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.


Hull City are delighted to announce the loan signing of midfielder Harvey Vale from Premier League side Chelsea.

The attacking midfielder, who can also operate out wide on the left wing, has joined the Tigers on a season-long loan deal.

The 18-year-old began his career at his local side Crowborough FC before joining Fulham’s academy in 2010.

Initially starting his career as a left-back, Vale played a number of positions at youth level before settling as a midfielder.

Joining Chelsea at Under-13s level, the 18-year-old signed his first professional contract with the Blues in September 2020.

Featuring predominantly for Chelsea’s youth teams in a variety of competitions, including the Premier League 2, UEFA Youth League, U18 Premier League and the FA Youth Cup, Vale has made four appearances in the EFL Trophy.

At youth level, Vale has made over 70 appearances, scoring 19 goals and registering 16 assists.

His breakthrough campaign came last season, making his senior debut for the Blues in December 2021, playing 65 minutes in the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup against Brentford before being substituted for Mason Mount.  

Also featuring in the first leg of the semi-finals of the EFL Cup against Tottenham Hotspur and playing in three FA Cup victories for the Blues, Vale was also an unused substitute in Premier League and UEFA Champions League fixtures.

Internationally, Vale has represented England at Under-15, Under-16, Under-17 and Under-19 level, making a combined 22 caps, scoring three goals.

Being named captain in only his third appearance for the Under-19s, Vale led England to European Championship glory in July of this year.
