AS PART of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations, Humberside Police’s new marine patrol and underwater search boat, Galene, will be sailing alongside an estimated 70 other boats from the region in a special Jubilee Flotilla sailpast of the Humber Bridge this evening. Sent on their way by an RAF Battle of Britain Spitfire flypast, the flotilla will leave Hull Marina around 7pm.
Hessle Town Council, along with event partners Hull City Council and East Riding Council, have organised the event, with the flotilla sailing in formation from Victoria Pier in Hull to the Humber Bridge ahead of the national Lighting of Beacons at Hessle at 9.45pm.
Viewing points will be available at Victoria Pier and St Andrew’s Quay as well as Hessle Foreshore but people have been warned there is no vehicular access to Hessle Foreshore and parking elsewhere is expected to be in high demand.
