Thousands of East Riding residents are being contacted for their views on local highways and transport services – from the condition of roads and footpaths to the quality of cycling facilities. The performance of East Riding Council in these areas will be compared with the rest of the country, as part of the National Highways and Transport Public Satisfaction survey. Officials told us that the exercise will enable the authority to take corrective measures to address any issues raised by the survey. Full details here

Beverley Art Gallery is reminding residents that its current exhibition, ‘To the Water’ comes to an end this Saturday. Curators told Beverley FM that it’s a unique mix of art and social history, looking at how waterways have inspired artists over the centuries: From the seas and sailing, through to rivers and shipbuilding. It’s just been confirmed that East Riding Libraries are to hold a Harry Potter themed day in just a week’s time. Next Thursday will see the staging of a magical virtual escape room and a spooky online book night. Librarian Jess McCarthy told us they’re aiming to make this the best yet, despite current restrictions. She encourages all muggles to book a free place online as soon as possible.
