Swansea City 3-0 Hull City

Hull City suffered a 3-0 defeat against Swansea City in the EFL Championship.

Quickfire finishes in the second half from Ryan Manning and Luke Cundle saw the Swans take a 2-0 lead before Joël Piroe secured all three points at the Swansea.com Stadium with a finish five minutes from time.

Shota Arveladze made three changes to his starting XI to the one that faced Stoke City in midweek. Nathan Baxter made his second Hull City debut as he replaced Matt Ingram in between the posts, while Dimitrios Pelkas and Harvey Vale also got their first starts for the club, replacing Alfie Jones and Tyler Smith respectively.

Jean Michaël Seri had the first opportunity of the after just two minutes as his long-ranged effort was touched over the bar by goalkeeper Steven Benda. The Swans then hit the bar at the other end moments later as Manning picked out the run of Piroe, but his first-time strike hit the crossbar.

The Dutch striker wasted another good opportunity as he volleyed wide from close range before Oli Cooper had two opportunities back-to-back, seeing his first drive parried by Baxter before the midfielder saw his rebound deflect wide off Tobias Figueiredo.

After weathering the Swansea City attacks, Lewie Coyle searched for the opener as he cut inside from the right wing, but his left-footed attempt went narrowly wide of Benda’s left-hand post.

His fellow counterpart Matthew Sorinola had an opportunity for the hosts, after good link-up play with Swans’ substitute Cundle, but the right-back’s shot flew over the crossbar. In injury time, Ben Cabango played through Piroe as the Dutch striker took aim. However, Piroe’s thunderous effort was pushed onto the bar by a fingertip save by Baxter.
