Police are warning East Riding residents to be on their guard against investment fraud following a number of reported cases in our area. Sergeant Ben Robinson from the Economic Crime Unit told Beverley FM that they want to warn people to be on their guard and check the legitimacy of the people they’re dealing with before handing over their money. He added that the schemes seem a great way to make money grow but are actually worthless or don’t even exist.  Police recommend checking brokers credentials on the Financial Conduct Authority’s register. If you think you have been a victim of Investment fraud tell Action Fraud  For more information about how to invest safely, go tohttps://www.fca.org.uk/scamsmart
