John Fusco
What show do you present and when?
The Morning Mix on Friday each week from 10am – 12 noon. You’ll sometimes catch me on air on other days too, when other members of the Morning Mix team are taking a break.
What do you love most about being at Beverley FM?
It’s a great way of indulging my lifelong love of radio that has been reflected across my adulthood working voluntarily as a hospital radio presenter and also at other community radio stations in other parts of the country. Since moving to Beverley, being part of the team that creates the Sound of East Yorkshire has helped me to feel part of the community. It’s a great privilege to meet and interview people from Beverley and East Yorkshire and to give them a platform to talk about their work, plans and achievements.
If you could travel anywhere you haven’t already been, where would it be?
I’m fascinated by the Shanghai skyline and I would really love to visit there someday. They’ve also got a pretty unique version of Disneyland there that I’d like to see – the Tron ride looks amazing!
Where’s your favourite place in East Yorkshire?
Probably that bit of the B1230 Walkington Road where the road bends round as you begin your descent into Beverley. The beautiful view of the Westwood and the Black Tower, with the rooftops of Beverley and the magnificent Minster in the distance, is what made me move here in the first place. It really makes me feel that I’m home.
What’s your favourite comfort food?
A good plate of Spaghetti Al Arrabiata will always hit the spot for me. My Italian roots mean that I’m quite the pasta fan!
