PR: Preston vs Hull City

The Tigers will be looking to build on last week’s excellent opening day victory when they travel over the Pennines to entertain Preston who began their season with a goalless opening day draw at near neighbours Wigan.

City have no fresh injury concerns and could be strengthened by further addition(s) to the squad with at least one signing expected prior to the weekend.

City will take great heart from the second-half performance versus Bristol City and showing superb character coming from a goal down to claim the points albeit with a slice of good fortune for the 93rd-minute winner.

The likes of Seri, Tufan and Sayyadmanesh will be looking to stamp their influence on proceedings again after playing pivotal roles in Saturday’s opening day success.

City will be reunited with a familiar face in former favourite in Robbie Brady who signed for Preston in the summer after leaving Bournemouth. The free-scoring Alan Browne will be a threat for Preston as Ched Evans sits out a ban after his opening day red card. Preston are also looking to bolster attacking options as they pursue a deal for Callum Robinson of West Brom.

The key to a successful season as always is to win your home games and pick up points on the road, City have made a positive start and I expect them to remain unbeaten with a hard-fought draw at Deepdale.

I am expecting City to line up with the same 11 and formation that started the Bristol fixture, with a hard-fought 1-1 final score, I predict.
