PR: North Ferriby vs Yorkshire Amateur

North Ferriby Fc face Yorkshire Amateur at the Dransfield stadium this weekend. Chris Bolder’s side returned to the top of the league table with a hard-fought victory over Frickley Athletic during the week. A Danny Earl winner in the 87th minute the difference.

When asked to share his thoughts after the game Bolder said, “Frickley was a tough game so to come away on a Tuesday night with the three points was pleasing. They were a very good outfit and stopped us playing our usual game whilst causing us some problems, so full credit to them. We showed that we can do the other side of the game well and ground out the result with another good Danny Earl goal”.

Yorkshire Amateur finished tenth in the NPL division one east last season, but due to failing ground grading were relegated back to the NCEL. It’s been a hard start for the Leeds-based outfit. Mark Maspero, the former FC Humber United manager was appointed in August, replacing Nathan Cartman. Yorkshire Amateur saw an exodus of last year’s playing squad, with Maspero tasked with finding a new squad from scratch. Yorkshire Amateur currently occupy the last position in the table with four points from nine games. Bolder shared his thoughts regarding Yorkshire Amateur, “We welcome Yorkshire Amateurs to us on Saturday and they are going through a transitional stage at the minute. They are working hard to rebuild and get their own philosophies stamped on the team so they will continue to evolve as the season progresses. We have managed to see some highlights of them and can see that they have talented players who can cause problems so we will have to be mindful of that whilst ensuring we get back to dictating the game”.

Bolder summed up his team’s availability ahead of the weekend, “Danny East will miss out through injury and Iwan Healey is not quite ready to return but we do welcome both Tom Corner and Josh Whiteley back in the squad which is boost”.
