PR: North Ferriby vs Hallam
After last week’s FA Cup victory, North Ferriby Fc return to league action when they face fellow NCEL Premier Division new boys, Hallam.
Last week’s FA cup match saw Chris Bolder’s side overcome Northallerton 3-0 at the Dransfield. Two goals from Danny East and an excellent strike from Danny Emerton saw the Villagers on their way into the next round to face Heaton Stannington. When asked about how his side performed last week, Bolder said, “A good solid performance Saturday with lots of chances created once again. Another clean sheet too which builds upon our defensive focuses from last season, so that was very pleasing. The only criticism that could be levelled at us would be the conversion rate once again, as we should have scored more goals given the situations, we found ourselves in”.
In Hallam, Ferriby face the side that beat them to the league title last season. Craig Denton’s side amassed an impressive 102 points and finished with a goal difference of +103. Like the Villagers, they opened their season with a victory. Last time out they saw defeat in the FA cup, losing 1-0 to Bury AFC in a replay. Bolder spoke about what he expects from his sides opponents this weekend, “We are expecting a really tough game Saturday as we face the team that pipped us last season, who were strong and consistent all year. They have recruited well and therefore will be a team who will be challenging once again in my opinion”.
When asked about the availability of his squad for Saturday’s game, Bolder said, “We have to make wholesale changes once again due to player availability. It is very frustrating as this is only the third game in and already, we are having to deal with unavailable players due to varying reasons. However, we have to be positive, and we know we have built a strong squad to help in these specific scenarios”.
