PR: North Ferriby vs Goole

North Ferriby Fc host Goole AFC at the Dransfield stadium this weekend. Chris Bolder’s side come into the game off the back of a 2-1 home win against Hemsworth Miners. It was a resolute performance from the Villagers as they bounced back from their previous defeat at Silsden. Chris Bolder was asked to sum up his thoughts on the game, “After reviewing the video, we can see that we played some good football with some outstanding passages of play, especially in the first half. We lost a little control in the second half but still had enough chances to put the game beyond our opponents. Once again, highlighting the importance of taking these if we are to not allow teams an opportunity to threaten the victory in the closing stages.

We have worked hard in training this week to improve in some of these areas, so hopefully, that is evidenced on Saturday”.

The Villagers received international clearance for Josh Whiteley and Levi Tarbotton during the week. The pair, who played a pivotal role in the Villagers league campaign last season, recently returned to the country after a spell in Australia. Bolder spoke of his delight of welcoming both players back, “It is great to finally get clearance for Levi and Josh, and we will include Levi but unfortunately Josh is still nursing an ankle injury”.

Goole come into the game in the bottom two. After a good start to the season and a good cup run, Mark Carmody’s side have struggled of late. Bolder summed up his thoughts, “Goole will be another challenging opponent on Saturday. We watched them in pre-season and don’t think their league position is doing them justice at the minute as they showed some good aspects to their play”.

North Ferriby will host FC Halifax Town in the FA youth cup on Wednesday September 28th. The game was originally scheduled to be played at the Shay but due to pitch developments, the Villagers will host the fixture.
