PR: Hall Road vs Swallownest

It’s Non-League Day on Saturday as Hall Road Rangers host Swallownest FC at Haworth Park.

After three successive league defeats, Hall Road are looking to rekindle some of their excellent form from earlier in the season. In fact, Rangers have lost four of their last six league games. They’re also aiming to improve their home form having lost eight out of 17 games played on their own ground.

Rangers could potentially complete the league double over Swallownest. The reverse fixture in November saw Hall Road win 0-2 courtesy of a Sam Reed own goal and a Sam Robinson effort.

Swallownest have won one of their last six league games. Alex Nightingale’s side sit just above the bottom three and are six points clear of 19th placed Clipstone FC.

Out of a total of 18 away games so far this season, Swallownest have won four, drawn six and lost eight.

James Woodhouse is Swallownest’s main attacking threat. Woodhouse has bagged eight league goals to his name thus far.

Hall Road joint-manager Leon Sewell says that his side are ready for the task at hand.

“The lads will be bang up for it come kick-off and I’ll be reminding them that it’s the 1st time we’ve failed to score in consecutive games since August.

Swallownest are fighting for survival and even more so after their midweek away win at Worsbrough Bridge. We had a good, competitive game against them earlier on in the season with, at the time, a slightly scratch squad with players playing out of position.

We’ll be well-rested with no midweek fixture to ensure that the lads go full throttle, play on the front foot and take the chances when they come” he said.
