PR: Eccleshill United vs North Ferriby

After two successive league wins, Chris Bolder and his North Ferriby FC travel to Eccleshill United on Tuesday night. As mentioned, Ferriby come into the game in good form. As well as their two league wins, they also have an FA cup win under their belts. In the process of these three victories, Bolder’s side are still to concede a goal, last season’s promotion was built on a solid defence and early signs point to the Villagers being a hard side to break down again.

In Eccleshill, the Villagers face the side that finished in second place in last season’s NCEL Premier Division. The “Eagles” qualified for the promotion/relegation play-off and travelled to Kempston Rovers. However, a 5-4 defeat on penalties meant Eccleshill faced another season in the NCEL premier division. It will be a tough game for Bolder’s side, in what is an early clash of the league’s top two. Eccleshill, have played one more than the Villagers and sit below Ferriby on goal difference. Ryan Toulson’s side come into the game off the back of a 2-0 defeat at fellow promotion hopefuls Barton Town.

In their last outing, a 2-0 win over Hallam, Chris Bolder gave debuts to two new signings. Firstly, Henry Hampshaw started in goal after joining the club from Sheffield United on loan. Secondly, T’Nique Fishley started alongside Niall Tilsley at centre back, after joining from Tadcaster on dual registration. The Villagers also saw the return of Liam Nelthorpe to the side. Nelthorpe has been out of action since the beginning of last season and his return off the bench in the Hallam win is a massive boost to Chris Bolder.
