PR: Clipstone vs North Ferriby

With just three weeks left of the regular season, North Ferriby FC make the trip to Clipstone this weekend.

Ferriby will go into the game full of confidence after a 3-2 win over Glasshoughton made it three wins on the trot. Danny East’s double and Tom Corner wrapped the points up for the Villagers against a very determined Glasshoughton side. The two goals from Danny East put him on 20 goals this season. North Ferriby FC boss Chris Bolder was asked about his side’s performance and the game overall, “It was a tough game. We saw the best of what Glasshoughton have to offer. They were one of the strongest sides we’ve played. We had a couple of setbacks with the goals and they were poor goals to concede. We did very well to get back into the lead twice having been pegged back.

This weekend’s opponents Clipstone are in a relegation battle. They sit in 19th place, six points behind Swallownest with one more game played. This weekend’s game is a must-win for Clipstone. They recently parted company with experienced manager Rudy Funk. Clipstone come into the game off an 8-1 home defeat to Parkgate. When the sides last met in November, the Villagers won 2-1 and needed a Jackson Jowett winner after Clipstone had equalised two minutes before. When asked about his thoughts ahead of the weekend, Chris Bolder said, “they will be disappointed with the result from Tuesday against Parkgate. They will be looking to bounce back against us. As usual it will be about us and how we can keep our good run of form going”.

The Villagers will be without Adam Bolder this weekend. Danny Buttle will return to the squad and there are doubts over Joel Shortland who has missed the last two games through an injury.
