Pr: Beverley ARLFC vs Hull Dockers

Beverley entertain Hull Dockers this Saturday in their final home game of the season. Supporters should note the match will take place at Thurlow Avenue, kicking off at 2.30 pm. The match is the main event of the Beverley Braves ‘fun day’ taking place from 12noon to 6 pm with whole hosts of sideshows such as barbecues, bouncy castle and crossbar challenge.

On the field, Tony Spence, with just 2 matches to go, is determined to end this Covid induced regional season on a high. The NCL intend to restart 2022 with all 49 clubs in their original 4 divisions as they stood when the first lockdown began way back in March 2020.

The players have had only a light session on Thursday evening following Tuesday’s outing at West Hull. Speaking ahead of the clash Spence commented

”Our emphasis now is learning the lessons of the season so far as we have played everybody once. We need to pick up our intensity for longer, for example, last Tuesday we were intense for a couple of 10-minute spells. We need those spells to last for 20 minutes.”

On the team news front, he is boosted by the return of Sam Coleman, Bobby Howdle, Ryan Watkin and Alex Calvert to the starting lineup.

Team: Billy Riby, Josh Poskitt, Sam Coleman, Sam Roe, Lewis Miller, Lewis Straw, Lewis Straw, Ryan Watkin, Bobby Howdle, Jack Howdle, Alex Calvert, Alex Starling, Jordan Precious. Subs: Francis Coggle, Dan Spence, Dan Smart, Joe Rose.

The club would request that supporters if possible either walk or cycle to the match as parking is very limited.
