North Ferriby 5-1 Goole
A five-star North Ferriby performance saw them defeat Goole 5-1 at the Dransfield stadium. A brace from Danny Earl plus goals from Danny Emerton, Danny Buttle and Josh Dennett.
Chris Bolder made changes from his side’s victory against Hemsworth. Levi Tarbotton made his return after his move back from Australia. Adam Bolder and Danny Earl also made a return to the starting eleven.
Chris Bolder’s side started bright and broke the deadlock with just under ten minutes played. Danny Earl received the ball deep in the Goole half. He controlled the ball with his chest before embarking on a run past several Goole defenders. Earl then fired a shot across the goal and saw the ball fly into the top corner.
Earl would score his second and his side’s second. A through ball split the Goole defence and Earl showed his pace as he ran onto the ball before calmly placing his shot past Goole keeper Mateusz Zaniewski.
The Villagers would grab a third goal before the end of the half. Danny Earl had the chance to score a hat trick as he was played through on goal. A good save one on one from Zaniewski was only parried out to Danny Emerton who was able to put the ball past Zaniewski.
A ball over the top saw Danny Earl presented with another chance to grab his third goal. The Ferriby attacker did well to control the ball and advance towards the goal. His shot was saved by Zaniewski, who could again only delay the inevitable as his save only reached Danny Buttle who came running in at the back post to score the home side’s fourth goal.
The visitors would get a goal back through substitute Nathan Perks, but the day belonged to the Villagers, and they would find a fourth before the game was done.
The attack started with goalkeeper Lewis Hill. Hill played a ball out the left and found Robbie Start. Start then played a good ball over to Danny Earl who then cleverly flicked the ball into the direction of Danny Buttle who then crossed the ball and found Josh Dennett who headed the ball past Zaniewski.
Chris Bolder’s thoughts after the game, “we took our chances today, that was the difference, last week I think we played better football but today was all about our execution. We created a good number of chances and scored some wonderful goals. Overall, we’ve played at home in front of an amazing crowd, scored excellent individual and team goals and seen some strong performances”.
