North Ferriby 4-0 Yorkshire Amateur

North Ferriby defeated Yorkshire Amateur 4-0 at the Dransfield stadium. Chris Bolder handed the recently returned Josh Whiteley his first start since re-signing for the club. Danny Emerton came in for Josh Dennett and Louis Kirk for Adam Bolder.

Danny Earl made a good run into a dangerous position, but couldn’t get a shot away, Danny Emerton was quickest to the block of Earl but his strike went wide.

Josh Whiteley nearly made an immediate impact as his effort went whistling past the post.

The Villagers made their breakthrough when Danny Earl put the ball past Mitchell. Liam Dickens shot from outside the area, Mitchell spilt the attempt and Earl was on hand to put the ball into the goal.

The referee played a good advantage after a foul on Levi Tarbotton. The ball rolled to Josh Whiteley who saw his shot saved. Louis Kirk picked up the rebound and crossed the ball. Levi Tarbotton placed the ball into the goal from close range but was adjudged to be offside.

Jamie Forrester went close to opening the second half scoring as his volley went close. A throw in on the left hand side took Yorkshire Amateur by surprise. Danny Earl progressed with the ball and found Jamie Forrester who finished smartly to double the hosts lead.

There were two sending-offs in a matter of minutes. First, Alfie Wilkinson flew into a challenge and saw red. Secondly, after a melee in response to the challenge, the referee also gave Levi Tarbotton his marching orders to reduce both sides to ten.

The Villagers would make it three when Danny Emerton progressed with the ball on the right-hand side. Emerton put a great cross into the area, and Danny Buttle was on hand to head past Mitchell.

Buttle would grab his second and his sides fourth. A Josh Dennett throw-in went into the area and wasn’t dealt with by the Yorkshire Amateur defenders. This allowed Danny Earl to play the ball across the goal where Buttle poked the ball into the goal.

North Ferriby boss Chris Bolder summed up his thoughts after the game, “first half, for various reasons we weren’t quite at the races. We had a good chat at halftime, we expressed to the lads what we expect, we weren’t amazing in the second half but we were much improved. To come away with another clean sheet, to score some good goals again, we have to be happy again with that”.
