Police are appealing for witnesses to two fatal road traffic accidents in East Yorkshire last Friday and Saturday. A 17 year old man named as Jack Stabler died following a two-vehicle collision on the B1249 near to Driffield on Saturday. Another 18 year-old man remains in a critical condition at Hull Royal Infirmary. Investigators are still seeking witnesses to the collision which occurred at approximately 1:40am on Saturday morning involving a red Vauxhall Corsa and a red Skoda Fabia. A second fatal collision took place on Friday at around 7:55am on Driffield Road between Kilham and Ruston Parva, when a black Seat Leon left the road and collided with a tree. 

Humberside Police told Beverley FM they would now like anyone who saw either collision, has dashcam footage or saw the vehicles prior to the collisions, to call them on the non-emergency 101 phone line. East Riding residents and schoolchildren are being encouraged to join the Summer of Cycling this week – with events over the next 4-days aimed at getting people on their bikes. It’s being run by the road safety team at East Riding Council to encourage more people to cycle around the beautiful sites of the East Riding.
