BEVERLEY-based East Yorkshire Food Bank is seeing an increase in demand for help as the cost of living crisis begins to bite and says it’s struggling to meet demand. In the past month it says they’ve given out twice as much food as it received in donations.

Current demands for donations are milk (UHT or powdered), long-life fruit juices, soup, pasta sauces, tinned sponge puddings, tinned tomatoes and vegetables, cereals, tinned rice rice pudding, instant mashed potato and tea bags and instant coffee.

Monday foodbank sessions are now held at the Armstrong Centre in Grovehill Road, Beverley, between 2-3pm. Telephone 01482 772060 to get help. And you can get more information from www.eastyorkshire.foodbank.org.uk

BEVERLEY Police Community Support Officer Lee LeGrove has warned of a recent rise in motorcycle thefts in Beverley and the surrounding area and urges owners to ensure motorbikes are secured with good quality locks and also suggests fitting a tracker device.
