Just before a gig at Beverley Folk Folk Club on November 3, folk singer Edwina Hayes popped into the studio to talk to Rachael Campey about her career – which has taken her to clubs and festivals around the UK, across the world and to recording in Nashville. Her next appearance locally will be at the Christmas concert in aid of the Macmillan cancer charity on December 9 at Beverley Minster. It’s her first time performing at the Minster. She’s looking forward to that – and to her 30th anniversary in the music business next year. During the interview we played two of Edwina’s songs.

Richard Avery Interview – October 2025.

East Riding Theatre’s Christmas production of The Snow Queen is in rehearsal right now and director Richard Avery chatted to Rachael Campey about what the audience can look forward to and the joy of bringing this famous Hans Christian Andersen story to life. It’s a show for the whole family and guaranteed to add some magic to the festivities this year.

Ayla Schofield Interview – October 2025.

Up and coming country music singer songwriter Ayla Schofield has been touring the UK and popped into the Beverley FM studios to have a chat with Morning Mix presenter Rachael Campey. She has been performing her own music and cover versions of well known songs on her tour. She comes from Germany but loves Yorkshire and hopes to be back in Beverley next year. She told Rachael how she started out and why she loves country music so much, playing a couple of her own songs during the interview.

This year’s New Paths Music Festival takes place in multiple venues across Beverley from September 21-23, including 20 specially-curated events. From concerts for pre-schoolers to atmospheric late-night events, from pop-up Beethoven performances to choral music, massed cellos, hidden voices and more – there’s something for everyone. BEVERLEY-based company Vuba, who make resin-bound surfacing used for paving and driveways, has been listed as one of the fastest-growing in the UK. Vuba, whose headquarters are on the Grovehill Industrial Estate, are now hoping to further expand by moving to a new purpose-built site in the town, creating more local jobs in the process. Sean Scott, who founded the company in his father’s garage in 2009, was a recent guest on the Morning Mix, chatting to Roy Woodcock.

Former Beverley man Andrew Osborne has completed a marathon solo row across the Atlantic Ocean, raising funds in memory of his daughter who tragically died from an undiagnosed heart condition. We heard about his efforts in conversation with Beverley FM’s Jonathan Levy on the Morning Mix. The sponsorship raised will go towards testing hundreds of East Riding state school children in the hope of saving lives and sparing local families from the heartache of losing a child to this silent killer.
