Illuminating Art by Luxmuralis: 13-17 February 2024

Venue: Beverley Minster

Over half term in February, visitors to Beverley Minster will be able to immerse themselves in a stunning light and sound experience, taking them on an art journey from Baroque to Impressionism. Using every inch of the interior of this magnificent, medieval building, Illuminating Art is an unforgettable event that allows visitors to experience four centuries of art and ‘new ideas’ projected on the walls.

An amazing kaleidoscope of images will wrap the interior Minster architecture in projections from floor to ceiling, turning the space into a fully immersive experience and showcasing the Pre-Raphaelites (Burne-Jones, Millais, Rossetti and Holman Hunt) and the Impressionists (Monet, Van Gogh, Cezanne, Manet and Renoir). Multiple large-scale projected artworks will also explore the changes through this period, including Brunel and the age of steam, early photography and Zoetrope (an early animation device).
