Social group activities could make a gradual return to libraries in the East Riding from mid-May. The Council made the announcement as part of the Government’s planned next stage in the roadmap to recovery.  Meanwhile, East Riding Libraries are asking the public how their services should change in the light of the pandemic. The Council says libraries are no longer areas for silent study but had become busy community hubs before the pandemic. The survey is available to complete from now until 30 May 2021 online at  www.eastridinglibraries.co.uk or through paper copies.

St Mary’s Church in Beverley is to celebrate its re-opening to visitors next month with a special charity event. The church plays host to a week of performances by celebrated pianist and festival director Libby Burgess, who has chosen Beverley as the beginning of a major nationwide tour.
Libby will play the whole of Bach’s ’48’ – The Well-Tempered Clavier – in every one of England’s 48 counties during 2021, raising money for musical charities.
The Beverley leg takes place daily from Tuesday, 18 to Saturday, 22 May.
