BEVERLEY MASONIC Hall is throwing open its doors again next week serving free meals to those struggling and in need. It’s a repeat of the initiative during the May/June half-term when more than 1,000 meals were served up.

Ben Yorks, of the Freemasons, told Beverley FM: “The local lodges are again joining forces to feed anyone who needs it between August 22-26, 12 noon – 2pm every day, at the Masonic Hall in Trinity Lane. Kieran Rose-Newton, of Beverlonian Lodge, is co-ordinating this and Juno, the University of Hull Lodge is sponsoring and is being assisted by all of the lodges, male and female, meeting in Beverley.”

He continued: “We would love to see you all again, with kids games and films, as well as crafting and games for the kids.”

LOCAL CHARITY Beverley Community Lift is working with the organisation Home Instead Beverley to provide transport to its “meet and socialise” events at The Highfield in Beverley on the second Thursday of every month, which includes live music, Bingo and other games and the option of a meal. Transport costs £3 and more information is available by calling Beverley Community Lift 01482 868082.

BEVERLEY RACECOURSE will be the venue for a two-day auction organised by Hawleys Fine Art & Antiques this Saturday and Sunday, from 10am each day, with viewing today from 10am to 8pm. More information here
