FR: Selby Town vs North Ferriby

North Ferriby FC return to Pre-Season action as they travel to Selby Town on Saturday. It’s been a positive summer for Chris Bolder and his side after gaining promotion from the NCEL division one in April. Bolder was asked about how preparations have been since the squad regrouped, “training has gone well. We have had nine sessions and the squad is settled and the squad looks very fit”.

Bolder has added to his promotion-winning side with four signings. Danny Earl joins the Villagers from Bridlington Town. The forward has a history of scoring goals in the NCEL premier division. Lewis Stephens joins from Glasshoughton. Stephens, a promising attacker, scored for Glasshoughton against the Villagers last season. The third signing is Liam Dickens. Dickens is a combative midfielder who comes in from Cleethorpes. Dickens represented Cleethorpes at Wembley in the FA Vase final in 2017. Finally, goalkeeper Lewis Hill joins the club from Shirebrook Town. Chris Bolder was asked about the new additions, “We’ve signed lads who have proven themselves and a player who had a fantastic season and has shown us he has amazing quality. Lewis will come in and will challenge for the number one shirt”.

Bolder said there are currently four players training with his side and will be given game time in the upcoming friendlies. Bolder was asked about how he will approach team selection on Saturday, “we will try the best we can to play two separate elevens. We do have players missing due to holidays”.

The Villagers will no travel to Parkgate next Saturday but will now goat Hull City Academy in the Billy Bly trophy.
