FR: North Ferriby vs Redcar

North Ferriby wrap up their preseason campaign with a home tie against Northern League side Redcar Athletic.

The Villagers come into their final warm-up fixture off the back of an impressive performance and result against Grimsby Town.

An Oli Donald header in the first half the only goal of the game.

The Villagers have had a productive preseason and have given plenty of opportunity to all members of their squad, as Chris Bolder looks to prepare his side for the opening fixture against Emley.

When asked about how he feels the preseason has gone, Bolder said, “preseason has gone exactly how we wanted it. We have been able to get minutes out of the squad. At times we may have looked a bit disjointed, we’ve been forced into making changes and that helps us get players minutes. If you look at the Grimsby game everything came together as a collective team performance, and it was the most consistent performance we’ve seen”.

The Villagers now turn their focus to Redcar. Redcar finished 14th place in the Northern League last season and will be a good test for Bolder’s side.

When asked about the upcoming game, Bolder said, “It will be a really though test and we wanted that against a team that will be of a similar level to what we will be facing this year. They’ve proven before that the Northern League sides offer a tough test, and it will be a really tough test as we prepare for the new season”.
