More trees than ever before’ at Beverley Christmas Tree Festival

With Christmas right around the corner, Beverley Minster is set to be transformed with an impressive Christmas Tree Festival.

Taking place from December 4-8, visitors can look forward to seeing beautifully lit and decorated trees by charities, schools, businesses, and community groups from Beverley and beyond.

With over 150 real fir trees, organisers say it’s the UK’s biggest Christmas tree festival for 2024. The increase in trees comes due to ‘huge demand’ from locals and businesses.

Organiser, Bob Farley, said: “Last year we thought we’d hit the limit with 125 trees. But now we are at 150. It’s quite a logistical challenge for the festival team to manage so many trees and decorators but the end result is definitely worth it.”

The much-loved Christmas Tree Festival offers something for everyone. Visitors can support local organisations, be inspired by the creativity of others or simply get into the festive spirit.

To make sure everyone gets the chance to visit, the Minster has extended its opening hours. On Wednesday, December 4, the Minster will be open from 9.00 until 17.00 (last entry 16.30) and on Thursday, December 5, it will be open from 9.00 until 20.00 (last entry 19.30). Additionally, there will be Quiet Sessions on Wednesday 4th, Thursday 5th, and Friday 6th at 9am for one hour, to help people who may prefer a quieter, less crowded experience.

The Christmas Tree Festival opens its doors on Wednesday, December 4 and runs until Sunday, December 8, coinciding with the town’s huge Festival of Christmas.

Tickets for the Christmas Tree Festival will be for sale on the door. They cost £5 for adults with accompanied children going free. Details of opening hours each day are available on the Beverley Minster website.
