Estupiñán signs for Hull City

Hull City are delighted to announce the signing of Colombian forward Óscar Estupiñán, subject to obtaining a work permit.

The 25-year-old has penned a three-year deal with the club and will become the Tigers’ sixth summer transfer.

Born in Cali, Colombia, Estupiñán started his professional career at Once Caldas after progressing through their youth system.

Scoring 18 goals in 56 games for El Blanco, Estupiñán made the move to Portugal to sign for Vitória de Guimarães in July 2017, becoming their first summer signing. Making his debut a month later against 37-time league champions S.L Benfica, his first season was spent between representing the first team and Vitória’s B team.

After spending time on loan at S.C Barcelona and Denizlispor, Estupiñán returned to Vitória de Guimarães and produced his best goalscoring season to date. Scoring 15 goals in 28 Liga Bwin appearances, the 25-year-old finished joint fifth in the league’s top scoring chart.

In May 2022, Estupiñán earned his first and only cap to date for Colombia, coming on as a second-half substitute in a 1-0 victory over Saudi Arabia in a friendly.
