East Yorkshire Buses announces big changes for the autumn
Alterations include route renumbering and more buses on some services

East Yorkshire Buses has announced a series of significant updates to its bus services, which will take effect from next month.
In response to customer feedback, these changes are designed to simplify routes, improve reliability and provide more frequent services to passengers across Hull and surrounding areas. The changes come into force on Sunday, November 10.
The updates also include additional early-evening services and increased frequencies, making public transport more accessible and convenient. East Yorkshire Buses said: “We’re excited to bring you these improvements and hope they improve your journey
“Timetables and route details will be available very soon, both online and in print. Be sure to check for updates as we approach November 10 so you can easily plan your journeys.”
Key improvements include simplified route numbers along “key corridors” for clarity and ease of use and increased service frequencies, particularly during the early evening, so passengers have more options available to them. Details of the changes are as follows:
NEW Service 51 – This service now connects Hull Interchange and Wymersley Road, replacing the 56 on this section. The service will operate from Anlaby Road to the Interchange via Carr Lane, Bond Street, and Albion Street. Customers can enjoy more convenient and flexible travel options with more buses during the day and an increased frequency between 6pm and 8pm.
Services 52 and 53 – The new numbers for services 152 and 153.
Service 54 – The new number for service 154. Timetable changes have been made for punctuality and reliability, and the frequency has also been increased early in the evening for more convenient evening travel.
Service 55 – No changes to the current timetable.
REVISED AND IMPROVED Service 56 – This service will continue to operate from ASDA Bilton to Hull, but now extends to Castle Hill Hospital, replacing service 63 on this section. This means up to three buses per hour between Bilton, Holderness Road and Castle Hill Hospital without changing buses. Timetable changes and frequency increases early evening.
Service 57 – Timetable changes and frequency increases early evening.
Services 58 & 59 – These routes have been renumbered from 66 and 66B. Timetable changes and frequency increases early evening.
Service 350 – Please note that East Yorkshire Buses will no longer operate journeys on this route, but Stagecoach services will continue unaffected.
Beverley Road Lines (41-X47)
Service 41 – This service has been renumbered from 121 and will still run between Bridlington and Hull, offering a more reliable timetable. Journeys into Hull will travel directly to Hull Interchange, via Prospect Street, bypassing Carr Lane for quicker connections.
Service 43 – Renumbered from 23, this service includes minor timetable changes to improve reliability.
Services 44 & 45 – Service 45 has been renumbered from 105. It will operate on the same route as service 105 with a revised timetable.
Service 44 – Will operate between Hull Interchange, Hull University, and Cottingham Grove.
Service 44 and 45 will provide a combined frequency of buses up to every 10 minutes between the University and Hull Interchange on weekdays and every 15 minutes on Saturdays. The evening services on these routes are coordinated to offer a 30-minute combined service, making travel in the evenings more frequent and flexible.
Services X46 & X47 – Both services benefit from minor timetable improvements for reliability, and evening services have been revised.
Other Services
Service 24 – This will now run more frequently, with buses operating every hour from Monday to Saturday.
Service 25 – This will now operate between Beverley and Hornsea, with additional early-evening trips, making it easier for passengers to travel later into the evening. The new 26 Service will now cover the section between Hessle and Beverley.
Service 26 – The new Service 26 replaces the previous Hessle-to-Beverley section of Service 25, providing a more punctual and reliable service.
Service 35 – Renumbered from 54, this service will operate with an increased evening frequency between 6pm and 8pm Monday to Saturday, ensuring passengers along this route have more travel options later in the day.
Service 104 – This route benefits from timetable improvements and an increased early-evening frequency until 8pm, Monday through Saturday, giving passengers more flexibility for evening travel.
Early evening increases on services 44, 45, 51, 54, 56, 57, 58 and 104, and the increase to three buses-an-hour on service 51 during the day, as well as service 44, have been made possible with financial support from Hull City Council, through the bus service improvement plan (BSIP), funded by the UK Government. Additionally, the increased frequency of service 24 is supported by East Riding Council, also funded by the UK Government.
