City star, Lewis-Potter, moves to Brentford

Hull City can confirm the departure of forward Keane Lewis-Potter to Premier League outfit Brentford for a club-record fee.

The 21-year-old, born and raised in Hull, joined the club’s academy at 14 years old before going on to make 122 appearances in all competitions for the Tigers, scoring 30 goals and registering 12 assists.

After impressing for the Under-18s and Under-23s, the youngster signed his first professional contract at the MKM Stadium in February 2018, before being named Academy Player of the Year for 2018/19.

After making his senior debut for City in the FA Cup against Millwall in January 2019, Lewis-Potter had to wait until the following season to make his breakthrough into the first team.

He made his league debut in November 2019 in the Championship against West Bromwich Albion, before going on to feature another 21 times in all competitions in 2019/20, scoring twice against Barnsley and Birmingham City.

Lewis-Potter’s most productive season for City came in our title-winning campaign in League One. He scored 15 goals in 51 appearances as promotion back to the Championship was secured at the first attempt.

He was able to build on his performances in the Championship last season, and ended the campaign with 13 goals and four assists to his name from 48 appearances, with his last goal in black and amber coming in our final outing of the season against Nottingham Forest.

As one of our own, we would like to thank Keane for his significant contributions on and off the pitch during his time at the club, and wish him well in the Premier League with the Bees.
