Weel Road, which leads to the Household Waste Recycling Site, is to be resurfaced between its junction with Main Street, Tickton, to the vehicle access to Holland Farm, which is north of the metal bridge leading to Grovehill Road, Beverley.

East Riding Council is spending £140,000 to upgrade the narrow road and work is due to start on Monday 11 March and take two weeks to complete, with work carried out during the daytime, from 9am to 3.30pm on weekdays. The road will reopen outside working hours.

Access to the village of Weel and Weel Household Waste Recycling Site will be kept open at all times via the metal bridge from Grovehill Road, Beverley.

During the closure there will be a signed diversion route via Main Street, Tickton, the A1035, Swinemoor Lane then Grovehill Road, Beverley.

The work will be carried out by the council’s own road improvement team. Further improvement work along the remaining section of Weel Road will be completed over the next couple of years.
