Work starts on converting Briggs & Powell
Work has started on revamping the former Briggs and Powell store in Beverley’s Saturday Market. Often described as Beverley’s oldest shops, the now empty premises were bought by a London-based investor although at this stage it is still unclear what’s earmarked for the site.
Inevitably suggestions have been made that it could be earmarked as another restaurant or cafe although at this stage the final outcome has yet to be decided. A spokesman for the owners confirmed a number of parties had shown interest in the building. The current work should be complete by October.
