Woman, 93, loses planning plea
East Riding planning councillors have refused permission for a 93-year-old Beverley woman to build a summerhouse in front of her cottage in Pasture House Mews. Mrs Joyce Storr, who is virtually housebound, wanted a quiet area in which to enjoy the sun and the view without having to leave her home, but East Riding Council’s eastern planning sub-committee rejected the proposal on the grounds that the neighbourhood is in a conservation area.
Objections to the proposal had been received by the committee from some nearby residents and Beverley Civic Society.
