Westwood fun run for Beverley Braves

An annual 5K Fun Run organised by Beverley Braves youth rugby league club takes place this Saturday morning (June 16) at 11am. The start and finish is on Beverley Westwood, on Westwood road just a short distance from the Woolpack public house.

Ex Great Britain and Hull FC all time great Johnny Whiteley will be in attendance to hand out awards and certificates as will former Great Britain, Hull, Leeds & Castleford legend Lee Crooks. The club is asking for £5 per runner,  with all proceeds going back into the club.

More than 400 runners took part last year and a club spokesman told us: “Its a great opportunity for children and adults alike to take in some exercise whilst supporting a popular local sports club.” The local Tesco store  will also be supporting the event by providing fruit for the runners taking part.
