Weekend Review – 25th October 2021

Once again it was not one of the best weekends we have seen locally. Four fixtures but only one win. A very good win though as Hall Road thrashed FC Humber United.

Hull City was once again defeated. The Tigers were timid in a 1-0 loss away at Luton Town. The hosts missed some good chances during the first half which could have made the score look far worse for Grant McCann’s side. Second half a small amount of improvement was shown but City still did not trouble the Luton goal. Luton Town 1-0 Hull City.

Hall Road Rangers returned to winning ways with a bang. Three defeats on the bounce saw Rangers slip down the table but Saturday was a complete contrast. Four up at halftime and a Sam Robinson hat-trick was exactly what Hall Road wanted and needed. Oliver Harlsey has the full report of the action.

Hull City Ladies are still waiting on their first victory of the season. The Tigress’ got off to the worst possible start when Stoke struck after just two minutes. Ellie Tanser scored the equaliser five minutes later. Both sides battled out what was a close game for the remainder of the half. Chloe Chan won player of the match on her debut in goal pulling off some good saves but was helpless as three quickfire goals won the visitors the game, 4-1.

Beverley RUFC were edged out of a close fixture by rivals Goole. Both sides have had difficult starts to the season and were hoping to turn a corner coming into the game. It was the hosts who eventually earned the spoils in an entertaining fixture. Brian Gilbert has the full report of Goole 20-18 Beverley.
