North Ferriby continued their excellent run of form with a victory in the NCEL League Cup last night. It is now five wins from five games for the Villagers, who beat Selby Town who are sat second in the league. It was 0-0 at the break with both sides creating good opportunities. The hosts were far more dominant second half, the deadlock was broken within the first two minutes of the second half from Carew, the advantage was doubled three minutes through a great strike from Tilsley. Fenton scored just shy of the hour mark to make it 3-0 to the Villagers. The scoring was rounded off by Shortland with a stooping header. Hull Kingston Rovers have made another signing ahead of the 2022 season. The Robins have signed prop forward Greg Richards from Championship outfit London Broncos. The 26-year-old has signed a one-year deal at Craven Park. Richards helped St Helens win the 2014 Super League Grand Final and has since made appearances for Leigh Centurions, Sheffield Eagles and London Broncos. KR Head coach Tony Smith spoke highly about the new signing “I’m looking forward to working with Greg, I’ve coached against him on many occasions and he’s a very experienced young prop and he fits the brief for a lot of what we’re about.” You can hear more from Smith on HKRTV.
