It was a good evening for our two sides in action. Hall Road returned to winning way at home to Shirebrook. North Ferriby beat Dronfield away from home to continue an impressive set of results in the league. Away from football Hull KR have extended another player contract.

North Ferriby were expected to gain three points away at struggling Dronfield Town. The Villagers unbeaten start to the season was in some doubt after just four minutes when the hosts took the lead. Ferriby struggled to find their rhythm in the early exchanges, but a goal did come, midway through the half from young forward Carew. From that point, it was all one-way traffic, and the visitors were unlucky not to have had more by the break. Second half was a similar story, the winner came on the hour, captain Tilsley powering a header home. Ash Walker reported on Dronfield 1-2 North Ferriby.

Hall Road Rangers have suffered two big defeats in two games, the visit of bottom side Shirebrook Town offered an opportunity for Rangers to get back to winning ways. The visitors entered the game with just one positive result all season but from the first whistle, you could not tell, opening the scoring after 4 minutes. Further chances were squandered by Town as they pushed for a second. Despite the opportunities, Hall Road would be the side to lead at the break, through a Robinson brace. An early goal in the second period left the game level until the 64th minute when debutant Smith scored the winner for Hall Road. Oliver Harsley reports on Hall Road 3-2 Shirebrook.

Hull Kingston Rovers have confirmed Will Maher will spend another year at Craven Park. The towering prop forward has been a regular this season and signs a one-year contract extension. The Robin head into the play-offs on Friday night away at Warrington Wolves, Maher will be expected to be included in Tony Smith’s 21-man squad.
