BEVERLEY’S Masterchef winner Eddie Scott is currently completing finishing touches to his first cook book, which he hopes will go on sale in May of next year.

He told Beverley FM he was currently involved in photoshoots for the book and was very excited with the results seen so far and that he’d been working with the same photographers and designers that had previously worked with chefs Gordon Ramsay and Jamie Oliver.
Having had three sell-out nights for his Royal Biryani Feasts at the Little Wold Vineyard in South Cave, he also revealed two more are planned for this month – on August 15 and 16. Full details on those are available via www.eddie-scott.com
MORE THAN half-a-million pounds in benefits have been claimed by local people in just 12 months because of a project at the Beverley-based East Yorkshire Foodbank. The food bank has been inviting staff from Citizens Advice to help their clients navigate the benefits system.
David Bird, Chair of the food bank told us: “This is making a huge difference to people’s lives. We are delighted so many clients have been helped to claim these benefits to which they are entitled. We want to see people have the money to feed their families.”
In the year to March 31, food was distributed to make 98,000 meals and in the three months that followed, demand increased by another 10%. Currently donations of food received by East Yorkshire Foodbank are only half of what is needed each month. For more information or to help visit: www.eastyorkshire.foodbank.org
