EFFORTS to promote social inclusion and maximising independence for young people and adults with a learning disability, autism and complex needs in the East Riding have been described as “amazing” by the British Association of Social Workers.
East Riding Council’s Futures Plus team was nominated for recognition in the association’s month-long campaign to celebrate amazing social workers. The team supports young people from age 16 with a range of learning disabilities with support for services such as direct payments, short breaks, accommodation and care. More information here
VINTAGE lifestyle and automobile festival, Race the Waves, returns to Bridlington from tomorrow until Sunday, with highlights including two days of vintage beach racing at the South Bay. Attendees will be treated to a free spectacular of vintage American hot-rod style vehicles and motorcycles, racing the waves along the South Beach in pairs from a flagged start. More details here
