Beverley and East Riding residents are being encouraged to join a new Fraud Awareness Facebook Group ahead of the first ever Humberside Police Fraud Week at the end of the month. The public can share their experiences by warning about fraudulent texts, phone calls or emails and rogue traders. Organisers told Beverley FM that fraudsters are also praying on those left vulnerable through anxiety caused by the pandemic. Sign up here

And if you’re planning to make the most of today’s sunshine, by visiting the coast before the weather breaks, lifeboat and inshore rescue teams are warning about the dangers of using inflatables which can be swept out to sea, plus the continuing threat of nasty stings from Weever Fish following recent incidents in Hornsea. The 6-inch-long fish can be found in shallow warm water. Their spines stick out and can deliver a very painful sting which usually lasts for a couple of hours. More safety advice here
