Our local footballing sides are slowly returning to preseason action. North Ferriby took on Hull City Academy in the Billy Bly Trophy whilst Beverley Town travelled to Appleby Frodingham.
Beverley Town had their first game of preseason across the bridge away at Appleby Frodingham, based in Scunthorpe. Without several first-team players, the aim for Mike Thompson’s men was to get minutes under the belts. A positive first half saw Town 1-0 up. The eventual final score 2-1 to the hosts but certainly some positives for Beverley to take into their next preseason game on Saturday.
North Ferriby in the return of the Billy Bly Trophy. Both sides continue their preparation for their upcoming campaigns. The Villagers battled hard against the young Tigers taking the lead during the first half through Levi Tarbotton. City equalised before halftime through Beckett. Both sides had plenty of opportunities during the second half but it was the Tigers’ Academy side which ran out 3-1 winner. Goals from Snelgrove and Hinds the difference.
