Vineyard scoops prestigious awards

Our local award-winning vineyard, Laurel Vines, based in the hamlet of Aike, about five miles from Beverley, has been named winemaker of the year and best grower in a prestigious competition covering an area from the Midlands to the North of Scotland.

The vineyard currently produces six wines, all of which also picked up either a bronze or silver medal at the awards ceremony, and has big plans for expansion, having already planted an additional 2,800 vines this year.

This year’s harvest is about to get underway and as Rebekah Sergeant, from the family-run vineyard, told us they are looking for volunteers to help them pick the grapes on Saturday September 22nd and Saturday September 29th.

If you want to get involved you can call the vineyard on 07513 012708 or visit their website,
